Pines.
Marc Balzac and I had just crossed "the Gap" at Blossom
Valley. This usually takes an altitude gain of close to 1000' and
favoarble winds. When you finally run for it, your heart is in your
throat and you rig for best glide, hoping like heck that you have a shred
of altitude left when you get to the otherside and have to start climbing
the scrappy lift on the apron of the adjacent mountain. Marc is working
the lift off El Cap.
