....Story Shaper by Prodigious Software-  Story Shaper lets you build stories from the ground up, arranging and rearranging parts, following templates, constructing realistic characters.  It has features that allow the story to be read to you by the computer voice of the Story Gnome.  It has a music player to allow you to play original music to set the mood for your writing.  It's like writing to your own soundtrack. This program was designed to please writers.  We like it, but then again we're biased --We made it.
 

....Character Builder-  This is a free character generator program made just for you,  the visitors to the Writer's workbook.  Just unzip the program and RUN the file setup.exe to install it.  The program generates male and female characters with unique histories, assets and flaws.  It is meant to be practical and informative.  You can save and modify the characters you create.  
 

....Windows Media Player-  This is one great player, and its free.  Just download it direct from Microsoft and you can play MP3 files comprising great soundtrack mood setters for your writing.
 

....Winamp-  Another free music player. Like the Media Player from Mcrosoft this one also handles many different types of music, including the MP3 files from the site below.
 

....Coming soon:   Writer's Workbook Music-  This is growing collection of soundtrack music designed for writers to capture the emotional essence of the section they are working on.  These files are MP3 files so they can be downloaded in 10 minutes or so.  w
